Recap by phillip woo

The well-backed Jolly Ruler took control near the 100m after a prominent run wide without cover for a fourth win from 33 starts. The step back in distance worked the oracle after placing last start over the Valley 1,650m. Favourite Telecom Power found one too good after getting all the favours in the box seat. He's as honest as the day is long. After firming late in betting, Fortune Whiskey ran on steadily for third after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,200m. Incredible Moment kept on for fourth after getting impeded over the last 100m following a front-running effort from gate six. It was a pleasing debut effort. Top Peak made ground late to just take fifth after making his run four from the rear. He was able to back up an improved fourth last start at Sha Tin. Prime Mortar gradually faded after a speed-tracking run from gate seven. He's better ridden conservatively in the run. Swagger Bro came from last at one point near the inside to finish next best after a sluggish start from gate 11. He's not far off a bottom.

Race Three : (613) - LAVENDER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 PRIME MORTAR (G328) J Orman On jumping made contact with WISEMAN and shortly after was then bumped by INCREDIBLE MOMENT which shifted out.

Horse No 3 SWAGGER BRO (K089) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and then shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded by VICTOR THE RAPID which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

Horse No 4 TOP PEAK (H441) H Bowman Sustained minor abrasions to the jaw and the right hock whilst being transported to the course.

In this incident TOP PEAK failed to respond to the efforts from its rider H Bowman to make the turn and the Stewards found that this was the principal reason for the horse having to be checked.

Horse No 5 JOLLY RULER (E346) A Hamelin A Hamelin pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 100 Metres (see INCREDIBLE MOMENT).

K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 14 May 2025 and to expire on Monday, 19 May 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
