Recap by phillip woo

Leather Master kept on gamely after moving to the lead 150m out following a speed-tracking run from gate nine for a first win at his 20th start. Punted late, Mr Aladdin kept on nicely for second after gradually improving travelling wide towards the rear to sit third 650m out. He can break through at any moment after showing some encouraging form in his past three starts. Fancied late, Winning Seven came on through the middle to fill a placing after settling three back on the fence. It was an improved effort but he is rated 13 points below a Valley 1,650m third in October. Favourite Verbier succumbed late after getting his own way in front at sedate fractions from gate two. The rise in weight and trip worked against him following a win. Joyful Champion ran on for fifth after a rails run from behind midfield. He was honest as usual. Apolar Fighter just plodded after a prominent run despite a downgrade. He's limited. Strongest Boy ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. He wasn't suited by the race tempo. Chilli Baba threw in the towel at the back 500m out.
