Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (600) - CHAMOMILE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 NOBLE PURSUIT (H324) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
After the event, L Ferraris stated that from an inside barrier he was instructed to hold an on-pace position to take advantage of his favourable barrier draw.
Horse No 2 LOVERO (H451) Y L Chung After the event, Y L Chung stated that he could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 EMBRACES (J276) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LEAN HERO (G402) K C Leung After the event, K C Leung stated that from a wide barrier he was requested to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He added that after settling back in the field LEAN HERO was unable to make up ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 WITHOUT DELAY (K262) K De Melo Sustained a minor laceration to its left front leg whilst being transported to the course, examined and passed suitable to race.
Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and lost ground.
Horse No 7 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 SMART TRIO (J538) M F Poon After the event, M F Poon stated that with his mount stepping up in distance and drawn well, he was asked to hold an on-pace position, similar to the manner in which the horse barrier trialed on 8 April 2025.
He said when SMART TRIO commenced well and showed good pace in the early stages he was able to lead without being pressured to do so.

Horse No 12 FORTUNATE SON (J446) H Bentley Near the 250 Metres was disappointed for clear running between NOBLE PURSUIT and EMBRACES which shifted in.
FORTUNATE SON was then shifted to the inside of LOVERO to obtain clear running approaching the 200 Metres.

Additions to Racing Incidents Report of 13 April 2025 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 11 (591) ENDEARED - Raced keenly in the early stages.
REGAL GEM - Near the 250 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of KA YING ATTACK to secure clear running.

A Americ Te Specso dashed nicely down the centre of the track to just deny long-time leader Highland Rahy for a fifth win from 36 starts. He's honest and it was third time lucky for him over the 1,650m. Highland Rahy found one just too good after assuming the lead over Smart Trio 400m out following a speed-tracking run from gate seven. It was a solid run up in grade after back-to-back wins. Specked late, Fortune Son ran on nicely along the inside to just get the nose down for third after a rails run from better than midfield. It was a return to form at his first start at the Valley but he was well rated off a pair of early-season placings. Another with late betting action, Lucky Touch dashed late to just miss a placing after a patient ride two from the rear. He's honest as the day is long. Favourite Embraces just failed to figure in the first four after a one-off trip from midfield. He couldn't back up a near win last start at Sha Tin. Aestheticism ran on without threatening with two wider out after making his run one off travelling behind midfield. He couldn't build on a win carrying seven pounds more.
