Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (595) - VIOLET HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 WINGS OF WAR (H162) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman stated that from an inside barrier when his mount commenced well he was able to take up a forward position without being pressured to do so.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 ROMANTIC SON (J537) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 KA YING VICTORY (H287) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start bumped with POWER KOEPP and became unbalanced.
After the event, M F Poon stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and then did not travel well during the race.
He added, in his opinion, KA YING VICTORY may have been feeling the effects of the manner in which it jumped and he had concerns with its action.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, KA YING VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 POWER KOEPP (E301) A Badel On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced.
Approaching the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of GIANT LEAP and as a result made contact with DENFIELD when GIANT LEAP shifted in under pressure.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 DENFIELD (G471) Z Purton Near the 200 Metres was bumped and taken in by POWER KOEPP.
Horse No 6 WARRIORS DREAM (K255) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 350 Metres was checked to avoid KA YING VICTORY and on straightening was shifted to that runner's inside to secure clear running.

Horse No 9 WRITTEN CASA (J305) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Giant Leap started brilliantly to lead from gate nine and kept on strongly for a second straight win and first in Class Three off a 14-day turnaround. He stole the race at juicy odds. Fancied to nearly jump favourite, Power Koepp ran on well for second after a oneoff trip from midfield. It was another good effort following a win last start in Class Four for his new trainer. Favourite Wings Of War whacked on one-paced to just hold third after tracking the speed. He found things tough carrying top weight but may be better suited ridden conservatively in the run. Denfield just failed to grab third but did have his chance after a box-seat run. Written Casa ran on late for fifth after making his run second last in the nine-runner field. Romantic Son only plodded to finish a distant sixth after a prominent run wide without cover. He had an excuse. Warriors Dream made some ground along the inside after a patient ride at the rear. He's still acclimatising. Sweet Briar was never in the hunt after a wide trip towards the rear. Ka Ying Victory folded after a rails run from behind midfield.
