Recap by phillip woo

Verbier dictated the pace from gate seven and never looked back after straightening nearly two lengths on top for a first win at his 14th start. He was able to back up a front-running third last start. Tradition just took second after travelling on the rail in midfield from gate two. He's a winner waiting to happen. Windicator Family ran on nicely near the outside to make it close for second after making his run one off from behind midfield. It was another solid run carrying five pounds more following a win. Strongest Boy ran on well near the inside for fourth after making his run five back on the fence. It was a return to form on his recent starts, but he is a well-rated runner. Mr Aladdin finished well with one wider out for fifth settling last from gate 11. It was another honest effort after getting up for third a start earlier over 2,200m. Cervin gradually faded after working forward three wide to track the leader from gate 12. He had an excuse. Smashing Express ran on without threatening after making his run three from the rear. It was a below-par effort. Ninja Derby was disappointing after a one-out, one-back run.
