Recap by phillip woo
Firming to start an odds-on favourite, Fast Network started slowly but ran on from near last to hit the lead 160m out and draw clear for a fifth win from 10 starts. He did it in a very good time and it's onwards and upwards for him. Bottomuptogether had his chance after moving to the front 250m out following a speed-tracking run outside leader Superb Capitalist. It was a return to form after a rare blip on his record last start when trying the straight 1,000m. Stellar Express ran on nicely for third after travelling two from the rear in the seven-runner field. It was a return to form after misfiring once at each track. Harmony N Blessed whacked on one-paced after sitting three wide without cover in third the entire trip. It wasn't a bad effort at the bottom of the weights under a 10-pound claimer. Mid Winter Wind came from last at the head of the straight to finish next best without ever looking a threat. He's only gone okay in back-to-back runs at this level after winning his local debut in Class Three.
