Old-timer Telecom Fighters dictated the pace as expected from gate 12, skipped clear by three lengths 200m out and just held on by a lip for an eighth win and first on this surface from 59 starts. He's always hard to run down if he gets his own way in front. Never Peter Out just failed to get up after a wide with cover trip from midfield. He continues to race very well this season following a switch to dirt racing. Lucky Touch ran on well down the outside for third after making his run fourth last from a tricky gate. It was another solid run up in grade carrying a light weight. Favourte New Forest had to settle for fourth after tracking the winner one off the fence. He can deliver on a win line shortly after filling the frame in three of four local runs across both surfaces. Flamingo Trillion kept on onepaced after a box-seat run. It wasn't a bad effort at his first start on the surface. Turin Mascot ran on without menacing after making his run three from the rear. It was a better effort on his past five starts following a dirt success. Perfect Team came from last and widest out to finish next best. He's more effective under a senior rider.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (541) - FLAMINGO HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.

When questioned regarding the horse's improved performance as compared to its last start on 26 February 2025, Trainer Y S Tsui stated that on that occasion TELECOM FIGHTERS was disadvantaged after making contact with the running rail near the 350 Metres and as a result gave ground thereafter.

He said tonight TELECOM FIGHTERS was able to lead the event and run the middle stages outside of standard time which allowed it to finish the race off in the Home Straight.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 BUNDLE OF CHARM (G213) H Bowman Bumped at the start.

Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 4 YELLOWFIN (G326) D McDonogh A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 TURIN MASCOT (H165) J Orman Held up making the Home Turn.

Horse No 7 PERFECT TEAM (H120) E C W Wong From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 9 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 10 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley stated that after jumping only fairly his mount settled slightly further back than intended.

He said with the pace of the event being run outside of standard time in the middle stages FIGHTING MACHINE found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 ARIEL (G223) P N Wong When giving ground near the 350 Metres was eased when crowded between TURIN MASCOT and ALLCASH which shifted out.

After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that ARIEL did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.

She said after the pace steadied in the middle stages, when it increased from the 800 Metres ARIEL was unable to finish the race off thereafter.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of ARIEL, a last start winner, was considered disappointing.

Before being allowed to race again, ARIEL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 13 NEW FOREST (K094) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 LUCKY TOUCH (J203) K Teetan For some distance near the 1200 Metres raced keenly when being steadied away from NEVER PETER OUT.
