Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (537) - SPOONBILL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HAPPY TANGO (D075) M F Poon Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.
Horse No 2 HINOKAMI KAGURA (H384) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 ORIENTAL TYCOON (J112) M L Yeung On jumping was steadied when crowded between SKY PROPHET and CHEER FOR SOUTH which shifted out.
Horse No 4 SKY PROPHET (J095) E C W Wong Bumped at the start.
Horse No 5 SPEEDY FORTUNE (H097) P N Wong Had its left hind plate adjusted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position.
She said despite riding her mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event when unable to cross runners to her inside.
She added that as a result of the horse racing wide and without cover it was unable to finish the race off under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 FLYING ROMANTIC (J057) K Teetan Made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping.
Horse No 7 SONIC BOOM (H144) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid CHEER FOR SOUTH which was taken out slightly by DAY DAY VICTORY.
After the event, M Chadwick could offer no explanation for his horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly.
Rounding the Home Turn was crowded between HAPPY TANGO and FLYING DRAGON which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.
In this incident DAY DAY VICTORY then shifted out and away from FLYING DRAGON and was steadied to avoid HAPPY TANGO.
A short distance later DAY DAY VICTORY was steadied to avoid FLYING DRAGON (A Hamelin) which shifted out when not clear.
A Hamelin was reprimanded.

Favourite Cheer For South travelled wide with cover from better than midfield, claimed the lead 100m out and was too smart for a first win at his 23rd start. The writing had been on the wall with seconds in two of his past three runs over the dirt 1,200m. Hinokami Kagura ran on well for second after making his run two from the rear. He's always a chance on this surface and did appreciate dropping into Class Five. Flying Dragon just got up for third after a prominent run on the fence. It was one of his better runs from eight outings this term. Sky Prophet lost a placing late after sharing the lead with two others to his outside. He's close to a win after filling the frame in two of his past three recent runs down in Class Five over the dirt 1,200m. Flying Romantic made some ground late near the inside for fifth travelling four back on the fence following a sluggish start. It wasn't a bad effort after nearly winning in a pace-stalking role last start on turf. Sensationally-backed Day Day Victory only plodded after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's limited.
