Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Chill Kaka settled fourth on the fence from gate nine, hit the front 200m out and drew clear for a first win and first in Hong Kong for his rider. He was ideally suited by a step up to 1,650m after putting the writing on the wall with a near win last start over 1,200m. Run Run Timing kept on well for second after dictating the run from gate one. The switch in surface and change in tactics nearly worked the oracle. Phantom Cyclone ran on nicely along the inside for third after making his run five back on the fence. It was clearly his best run to date on his all-weather debut. Thesis was just outdashed for third after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He's run with merit once on each surface carrying big weights following a Valley win last month. Von Baer stayed on all right after a rails run from better than midfield. He's not far off a rating bottom after giving a better sight in back-to-back runs following a downgrade. Perfect Pairing came from last and widest out to finish next best. He might be one to keep safe going forward on this surface shortly in Class Five.
