Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (523) - SPORTS HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SON PAK FU (G265) M Chadwick Bumped on jumping.
In the Home Straight lay in under pressure.
Near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a tight run between SUPERB CAPITALIST and HARMONY N BLESSED.
Horse No 2 FULL CREDIT (J185) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson stated that from barrier 7 with the anticipated fast early pace he was given the option of riding the horse in a conservative manner if it did not jump well and show sufficient pace to cross runners to its inside.
Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued and stated that FULL CREDIT was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" Horse No 3 AURORA LADY (J066) J Orman Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 BRAVE STAR (G268) A Badel After the event, A Badel stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to go forward.
He said as a result BRAVE STAR finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 BEAUTY DESTINY (H281) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 7 SWIFT ASCEND (H395) M F Poon Shortly after the start was bumped by FULL CREDIT.
Horse No 8 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) E C W Wong Apprentice E C W Wong pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1000 Metres (see GUSTOSISIMO).
Horse No 9 GUSTOSISIMO (J303) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Apprentice E C W Wong (HARMONY N BLESSED) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BRAVE STAR, resulting in BRAVE STAR being taken in onto GUSTOSISIMO, resulting in GUSTOSISIMO being badly crowded for room, becoming unbalanced and making contact with STELLAR EXPRESS, also resulting in STELLAR EXPRESS being crowded for room.
Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 30 March 2025 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) B Thompson Shortly after the start was crowded between SUPERB CAPITALIST and SON PAK FU, both of which shifted ground slightly.
Near the 1000 Metres was crowded between GUSTOSISIMO and BUNDLE OF CHARM.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 WINGS OF WAR (H162) H Bentley From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 1 to 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"

Racing Laboratory tests of SO AWESOME, REGENCY HAPPY STAR, PATCH OF TIME, AUTUMN VIBES, MOUNT EVEREST, FLASH CURRENT, AKASHVANI, SEA EMERALD, FLYING LUCK, FIGHT TIME, NATURAL HIGH, CHILL KAKA, VULCANUS, ETALON OR, GALLANT EPOCH, THE AUSPICIOUS, SELF IMPROVEMENT, GUMMY GUMMY, MOJAVE DESERT, LUCKY WITH YOU, COPARTNER PRANCE, DROMBEG BANNER, THE BOOM BOX, MAGNIFICENT NINE, ARMOUR WAR EAGLE, MARKWIN, SKY HEART, BUNDLE AWARD, LIGHT YEARS CHARM, EMBRACES and PATCH OF COSMO (9.3.25) proved negative.

Beauty Destiny was ridden patiently third last from gate 10 and showed a good turn of foot down the outside to get up 20m out for a fifth win and third on the bounce. He's in a rich vein of form and can win again. Post-time favourite Aurora Lady found one too good after hitting the lead 100m out travelling midfield on the fence following a slow start. It was another solid effort following a last start win. Sensationally-backed Bundle Of Charm stayed on nicely for third after a prominent run on the fence. He's more honest than not and was stepping out off a season low in the ratings. Heavily backed late Gustosisimo came up fourth best after a wide without cover trip from better than midfield. It was a positive performance up in grade carrying a lighter weight following a win. Son Pak Fu ran on late through the middle to just miss the frame after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It wasn't a bad effort carrying 16 pounds more at the top of the weights following a win. Wings Of War ran on without threatening settling second last from gate 12.
