Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (519) - LOCKHART HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 CASA ROCHESTER (J494) L Hewitson Near the 1500 Metres, when laying in, was steadied when crowded between NINJA DERBY and RED MAJESTY (H Bowman) which was racing tight to the inside of PANDA LEGEND (K Teetan) which shifted in.
Both H Bowman and K Teetan were reprimanded and advised that they should make a greater effort to prevent their mounts from shifting in when not clear of CASA ROCHESTER.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the event, L Hewitson stated that his mount lay in in the early stages.
Horse No 2 RED MAJESTY (E028) H Bowman Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Bowman, 7th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.
Horse No 3 HARMONY GALAXY (J266) M F Poon Trainer C S Shum confirmed that from the outside barrier he had instructed M F Poon to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid racing wide.
Horse No 5 BLUE BARON (J448) K C Leung On jumping was bumped heavily by PANDA LEGEND which shifted out slightly, resulting in BLUE BARON becoming unbalanced and losing ground.
Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
Horse No 6 OCEAN IMPACT (J502) J Orman Jumped only fairly.
For a short distance near the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind SUPER CONTENTED.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 PANDA LEGEND (H002) K Teetan Shifted out at the start and was bumped heavily.
When commencing to give ground approaching the 250 Metres lay in and was steadied away from RED MAJESTY which shifted out slightly.
After the event, K Teetan advised that his instructions were to take up a forward position.
He added that, in his opinion, PANDA LEGEND was not suited by him having to make use of his mount in the early stages to comply with his instructions which resulted in PANDA LEGEND giving ground in the Home Straight.
Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions and said he issued such instructions to allow PANDA LEGEND to follow RED MAJESTY across to offset the wide barrier as RED MAJESTY was an expected on-pace runner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 U S S CONSTITUTION (H357) A Badel Near the 1300 Metres momentarily raced tight to the inside of CASA ROCHESTER which continued to lay in.
Horse No 12 NINJA DERBY (H339) M Chadwick Approaching the 1200 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded by RED MAJESTY (H Bowman) which shifted in when not clear.
H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.

Sunday's Serenade settled behind midfield on the rails and got up 100m out near the inside for a first win at his 11th start. Ocean Impact never went around a horse to just miss after saving ground in midfield from gate three. It was a much-improved effort. Early favourite Jumbo Fortune ran on well near the outside to snatch third over Super Contented after making his run third last from gate 10. He's honest as the day is long without winning this season. Super Contented just missed a place spot after getting all the favours in the box seat from gate one. He was able to build on a seventh on his season debut last month over 1,400m. Harmony Galaxy ran on well down the outside for fifth ridden for luck at the rear from gate 12. He's not far off a rating bottom. Casa Rochester just plodded when asked for an effort following a wide without cover trip from better than midfield. He had an excuse. Red Majesty succumbed late after clearing to the lead 1,280m out from gate seven. It wasn't a bad run. Ninja Derby gradually faded after a one-out, one-back run. He couldn't back up a third last start over the Valley 1,800m.
