Horse No 5 SPARKLING FELLOW (K175) B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the event, B Avdulla reported that leaving the 600 Metres his mount shifted out and became unbalanced when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of SAL.
He added that near the 350 Metres his mount again became unbalanced when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of HEROIC MASTER and as a result lost ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
The racing manners of SPARKLING FELLOW were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SPARKLING FELLOW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 7 HEROIC MASTER (G394) M Chadwick A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 SAL (K267) M L Yeung Shifted out at the start and made contact with WATCH THIS ONE.
Leaving the 600 Metres shifted out and away from SPARKLING FELLOW and was steadied to avoid HEROIC MASTER.

Colourful King settled in the box seat and just prevailed over long-time leader Youthful Spirits in a photo finish for a first local win at his second start. He was able to build on a pleasing debut fifth over the straight 1,000m. Odds-on favourite Youthful Spirits was pipped in the last stride after straightening nearly three lengths on top dictating the run from gate seven. He's a winner waiting to happen over this course and distance. Celestial Colours succumbed late to finish a distant third after tracking the leader from gate three. It was a solid effort first up following a fetlock injury in November. Watch This One stayed on for fourth after a prominent run. It was an encouraging effort on his local debut. Heroic Master ran on late near the outside for fifth after slotting behind midfield with cover one off from an outside draw. It was another honest effort. Punted late Giddy Up just held his ground after a rails run from midfield. He needed the outing after a 122- day break. Sparkling Fellow never featured after making his run one from the rear. It was a flat effort with a switch to the Valley after two positive runs at Sha Tin.
