Recap by phillip woo

Windicator Family came from last near the inside to just deny Smiling Emperor for a first local win at his 19th start. He appreciated a move to visors and return to the Valley. Smiling Emperor finished well through the centre to make it close on the wire after a prominent run along the inside. It was clearly his best run to date following a downgrade. Well-backed Verbier kept on well for third after clearing quickly to lead from the widest draw. He continues to knock on the door without winning. Tradition ran on well for fourth after getting left without cover three wide travelling behind midfield from the 650m. He should find his mark shortly in this grade. Raging favourite California Moxie was disappointing after chasing the leader one off from gate seven. He's proving costly without a win on the board from 10 further runs this term. En Perfecto ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. He continues to disappoint despite a downgrade. Skyey Blue just plodded when asked for an effort after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's limited.
