Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (514) - COSMOS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 SKY TRUST (J161) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier, became unbalanced and lost ground.
In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 650 Metres was steadied when positioned close to REZEKI.
Horse No 2 STAR CONTACT (E472) D McDonogh From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 3 BEAUTY CRESCENT (H334) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with HONG LOK GOLF.
After the event, L Ferraris stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and as a result did not run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 HONG LOK GOLF (J517) H Bentley Bumped on jumping.
Lay out in the Home Straight and near the 150 Metres shifted out, resulting in its rider H Bentley having to stop riding, straighten and pull his whip through to his left hand.
After the event, H Bentley reported that with his mount starting from an inside barrier he was given the option of holding a more forward position.
He said when HONG LOK GOLF commenced well and the early stages of the race were run outside of standard time he was able to lead the event.

Horse No 7 SKY JEWELLERY (K032) B Avdulla In the Home Straight lay in.
Near the 200 Metres shifted in, resulting in its rider B Avdulla having to stop riding and straighten.
Again near the 100 Metres, B Avdulla was required to stop riding and straighten when SKY JEWELLERY continued to lay in.
Over the concluding stages B Avdulla dropped his right rein.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 KING MILES (J158) K De Melo Shifted out at the start and got its head up when being corrected by its rider.
Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SKY TRUST.
Horse No 9 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) M Chadwick On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters by SKY TRUST and became unbalanced.
Horse No 10 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) Y L Chung On jumping was crowded between FIGHTING MACHINE and AMAZING VICTORY.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) L Hewitson Crowded at the start.
After the event, L Hewitson confirmed that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 1 and 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"
2.
Prior to the running of Race 6, the track classification was officially changed from "Good to Firm" to "Good" After the running of Race 6, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Yielding" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 6 - 10 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding"

Whilst the horses were parading before the running of Race 6, heavy rain and strong winds inundated the racecourse.
Horses were returned to the saddling stalls and the running of this race was delayed on safety grounds.
When conditions became more suitable for racing, starting times were amended.

Racing Laboratory tests of CALIFORNIA MOXIE, SUPER HONG KONG, NICE BIRDIE, BOWSER, HARMONY N HOME, M UNICORN, EXCELLENCE VALUE, DRAGON FOUR SEAS, TELECOM POWER, GOLDEN RISE, PRIME MORTAR, STAR FIGURE, BEAUTY ALLIANCE, MISSION STRIKE, SUNNY DA BEST, ROMANTIC SON, BEAUTY INFINITY, SKY VINO, JUMBO FORTUNE, SPORTS LEGEND and SPICY GOLD (5.3.25) proved negative.

After jumping straight to the front from gate three, Hong Lok Golf never looked back for a third win from four starts. Sky Jewellery was finishing full of run following a wide trip with cover behind midfield but his tendency to lay in under pressure probably cost him. It was a fine run in a higher grade and he remains one to follow. Punted late, Sky Trust ran on well for third after making his effort from one off behind midfield following a slow start. It was another honest performance. Chain Of Gold held on for fourth after a box-seat run. it was his best effort from three straight goes over 1,400m. Amazing Victory ran on well for fifth after making his run third last from a tricky gate. It was a better run on his past couple following a stable change. Riding Together was yielding ground over the last 150m following a speed-tracking run. He's still acclimatising. King Miles made some ground without threatening after making his run three from the rear.
