Recap by phillip woo

Tactical Command capitalised on a rails run from midfield to run on nicely through the middle and overhaul Glory B in the concluding stages for a fourth win and two on the bounce from 27 starts. He's in a good patch of form and can win again. Glory B kept on gamely for second after moving to the lead near the 100m following a speed-tracking run from gate seven. It was another solid performance carrying seven pounds more following a win. Mr Cool ran on nicely near the outside for third after making his run three from the rear. It was a very encouraging debut performance. E Universe just missed a placing after getting all favours in the box seat. He's run well in back-to-back starts following a stable change. Giant Leap succumbed late after getting his own way in front from gate three. He should again find his mark shortly in this grade. Von Baer came from near last to finish next best. It was a better performance following a downgrade. Fortune Whiskey was doing his best work late down the outside after straightening at the rear following a slow start. It wasn't a bad run carrying top weight.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (501) - PENG CHAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Horse No 3 KARATE EXPRESS (J306) J Orman Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 5 CHAMPION METHOD (H366) A Atzeni Near the 750 Metres shifted in towards GLORY B and shortly after was steadied away from that runner when GLORY B shifted out slightly.

After the event, A Atzeni stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover until near the 500 Metres and raced a little keenly with blinkers being applied for the second time.

He added CHAMPION METHOD may be better suited by being dropped back in distance for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 KING ALLOY (K099) R Kingscote When questioned, R Kingscote stated that his instructions were to hold an on-pace position.

He said after jumping awkwardly and being badly crowded by SPICY SO SMART which shifted out abruptly, his mount lost ground.

He said having regard to his instructions he allowed KING ALLOY to go forward in the early stages and entering the Back Straight his intention was to endeavour to cross CHAMPION METHOD.

He said when his mount failed to show sufficient pace to do so it was left racing very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

R Kingscote agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect he would have been better suited by riding his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages after receiving interference at the start.

Horse No 7 MR COOL (K184) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between VON BAER and KARATE EXPRESS, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 GLORY B (H373) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 RUN RUN TIMING (H403) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley stated that the intention was to hold a slightly more forward position but despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so.

He added that after being held up between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres RUN RUN TIMING finished the race off in a one-paced manner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 SPICY SO SMART (G203) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and then shortly after the start became badly unbalanced, got its head up and lost ground after being contacted on the hindquarters.
