Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Spicy Gold punched the breeze in second from gate five and just wore down long-time leader Sports Legend for a fourth win from 16 starts and third from seven Valley 1,200m runs this term. Sports Legend wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the pace from gate one. He's improved on each of his three starts this term and can break through at any moment. Sugar Sugar stayed on a close third after a box-seat run. He's always a chance over this course and distance. Seasons Wit ran on steadily for fourth without threatening the top three following a rails run from midfield. It was clearly his best run from eight starts this term. Eason produced only a grinding effort after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He ran below par after placing three times over the Valley 1,200m from his opening four starts this term. A Americ Te Specso came from last to finish next best. He struck a race run to suit those up front. Legendary Impact made some ground near the inside after making his run three from the rear. It was a better effort on the back of a non-threatening 10th on his local debut over the straight 1,000m.

Race Nine : (484) - NEW LANTAO BUS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 EASON (G061) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount travelled only fairly throughout the race which he attributed to the racing surface which, in his opinion, had become a little loose due to some rain that had fallen during the meeting.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 SEASONS WIT (H223) J Orman Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid SUGAR SUGAR.

Horse No 4 SPORTS LEGEND (H456) H T Mo Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 SPICY GOLD (H440) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 AURIO (K056) M L Yeung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After the event, M L Yeung stated that his mount settled back in the field and raced keenly due to the race being run outside of standard time and as a result was unable to make ground in the Home Straight.
