After slotting one out, one back from a tricky gate, favourite Beauty Alliance drew clear after surging to the lead 150m out for a second win from nine starts. He's got the tools to hold his own up in grade off a light weight. Mission Strike ran on strongly from near last for second. He's a winner waiting to happen after catching the eye by placing in back-to-back Valley runs. Ninja Derby ran on well for third after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a better effort on his past few runs. The well-backed Me Time ran on well for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance over the Valley 1,800m. Hakka Radiance just held on for fifth after turning the final bend nearly two lengths on top after dictating things from gate 10. It wasn't a bad effort with a step back in distance after a near-win over 2,200m last Wednesday. Can't Go Wong ran on reasonably well to just miss fifth after having the retreating Romantic Fantasy fall in his lap 600m out following a rails run from beyond midfield.

Horse No 1 BEAUTY ALLIANCE (J260) R Moore Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) A Badel Approaching the 500 Metres was checked to avoid ROMANTIC FANTASY when that runner gave ground quickly.

Briefly held up making the Home Turn.

Horse No 3 ROMANTIC FANTASY (H168) H Bowman Bumped at the start.

The performance of ROMANTIC FANTASY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, ROMANTIC FANTASY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 TOY SOLTERO (J268) L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 300 Metres became unbalanced when MISSION STRIKE made contact with the hindquarters of TOY SOLTERO when TOY SOLTERO shifted out slightly and MISSION STRIKE lay in.

After the event, L Hewitson stated that when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to steady his mount to avoid racing wide and as a consequence TOY SOLTERO settled further back than what had been intended.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of TOY SOLTERO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Horse No 6 S J TOURBILLON (G138) J Orman Approaching the 500 Metres was taken wider by CAN'T GO WONG.

Horse No 7 QUICK QUICK WIN (K102) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly.

Trainer P C Ng confirmed that from a wide barrier the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

He said he issued such instructions as QUICK QUICK WIN had been racing disappointingly when taking up a forward position and to offset the wide barrier to assist QUICK QUICK WIN in finishing the race off.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) H T Mo Near the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid ROMANTIC FANTASY which was giving ground.
