Recap by phillip woo

Following a one-off trip from behind midfield, Harmony N Home quickened nicely with one wider out to take control 150m out for a fifth win from 62 starts and second from eight starts this season. Bowser ran on nicely for second after getting held up for a run until the 100m following a rails run from behind midfield. Lucky Planet just held on for third after a box-seat run. It was a return to form following a stable change. E Universe ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. It was his best effort from six starts this term following a stable switch. Accolade Start made inroads late for fifth after making his run five back and two off the fence. It was one of his better efforts. Inno Century just held his ground after a prominent run one off the fence. He hasn't disgraced in either of his three starts but is still a work in progress. Rewarding Twinkle made good ground late through the middle after making his run at the rear from a wide draw. He has shown hints of ability in his five starts but has yet to draw a proper gate. Happy United only beat a few travelling near the rear from gate eight. He is a 1,000m specialist.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two : (477) - INTERCONTINENTAL LIMOUSINE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 HAPPY UNITED (H208) H Bowman Near the 100 Metres was steadied when crowded between ACCOLADE START and REWARDING TWINKLE (M L Yeung) which shifted out after being steadied away from INNO CENTURY.

M L Yeung was reprimanded.

When questioned, H Bowman stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to ride HAPPY UNITED in a conservative manner in the early stages.

He said HAPPY UNITED jumped awkwardly and then got its head up in the early stages whilst he was complying with his instructions.

He said in the Home Straight HAPPY UNITED hung in and proved difficult to ride out and after being crowded near the 100 Metres HAPPY UNITED then raced tight between REWARDING TWINKLE and ACCOLADE START and as a result he could not fully test his mount out to the finish of the event.

Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions issued but advised that HAPPY UNITED had settled slightly further back than what he had expected.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 BOWSER (H460) R Moore Approaching the first turn near the 1000 Metres shifted in and away from HARMONY N HOME and made contact with the running rail.

After the 200 Metres became held up for clear running behind KING GLORIOSO and did not obtain clear running until near the 50 Metres when it improved into a narrow run between KING GLORIOSO and E UNIVERSE.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 YOUNG BRAVO (K178) B Thompson Jumped only fairly.

Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when it improved close to E UNIVERSE.

Horse No 4 KING GLORIOSO (J247) J Orman After the event, J Orman stated that his instructions were to obtain an on-pace position preferably with cover.

He said when KING GLORIOSO jumped well tonight it raced in a slightly more forward position.

Horse No 5 E UNIVERSE (H151) K De Melo Near the 100 Metres K De Melo lost his whip when it made contact with BOWSER as that runner improved into a tight run.

Horse No 7 COLONEL (D090) L Ferraris Under pressure in the Home Straight lay in, resulting in its rider L Ferraris having to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 200 Metres.

Horse No 8 REWARDING TWINKLE (J368) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 11 HARMONY N HOME (C531) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 GIMME FIVE (J099) A Badel Jumped awkwardly.
