Race Eight : (473) - TAI HING HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 HEALTHY HAPPY (D435) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 RAMADAN (K309) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
After the event, H Bowman stated that his mount hung in under pressure in the Home Straight and responded only fairly to his riding.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 DANCING CODE (G365) R Moore Approaching the 400 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of FLAMING RABBIT to obtain clear running.
Horse No 6 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) L Hewitson Near the 100 Metres became held up for clear running behind LADY'S CHOICE and could not be tested until the concluding stages.
After the event, L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold a more forward position if possible but not to pressure his mount to do so as it has previously been reported as a "roarer" He said as a result when caught wide in the early stages he elected to ride his mount in a conservative manner in accordance with the instructions issued.
Horse No 8 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) P N Wong Lost its right front plate whilst proceeding to the Start.
Was replated behind the starting gates, inspected by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
After the event, Apprentice P N Wong stated that her instructions were to take up a forward position but FLAMING RABBIT did not show sufficient pace to cross runners to her inside which resulted in the horse racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
She added under pressure in the Home Straight her mount did not respond to her riding and did not fully stretch out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 LOVERO (H451) Y L Chung After the 500 Metres lay in as it endeavoured to improve to the outside of DANCING CODE.
Horse No 11 LUCY IN THE SKY (J275) K Teetan Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.

After improving to sit midfield on the fence coming to the final bend following a slow start, Young Champion overhauled Healthy Happy 50m out for a third win from 10 starts. Old-timer Healthy Happy found one just too good after moving to the lead near the 300m following a speed-tracking run outside Lady's Choice. He was able to build on an improved fifth last start. Dancing Code ran on late for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance. Punted late, Outgate stayed on all right after a prominent run on the fence. It was one of his better runs from seven outings this term. Chiu Chow Spirit ran on without threatening after settling second last from the widest draw. He rarely produces a bad run over this trip. Post-time favourite Lucy In The Sky only plodded when asked for an effort after a prominent run with cover one off the fence. He wasn't quite up to the challenge off a light weight in a higher grade. Lady's Choice weakened after dictating the run from gate five. He prefers the Sha Tin 1,200m.
