Race Five : (470) - THE YAN OI TONG CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 THE HEIR (H459) E C W Wong Shortly after the start was crowded, bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Horse No 2 THUNDER BLINK (J019) C L Chau Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between THE HEIR and SIGHT DREAMER which shifted out when giving ground.
As a result, THUNDER BLINK could not obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres.
Horse No 3 MASTER TRILLION (J442) J Moreira On jumping was crowded by SPECIAL HEDGE.
In the middle stages lay out and near the 650 Metres was steadied to avoid SIGHT DREAMER.
Horse No 4 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 SUNNY DARLING (J171) R Kingscote Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced.
Horse No 7 FLYING AMANI (K152) M F Poon Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by DECRELOT.
FLYING AMANI was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages.
Horse No 8 JOYFUL TREASURE (J496) L Hewitson Crowded on jumping between THE HEIR and SUNNY DARLING.
Near the 250 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by SPECIAL HEDGE.
Horse No 9 OCEAN IMPACT (J502) T Marquand From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) R Moore On jumping was crowded between THE HEIR and THUNDER BLINK which shifted out.
After the event, R Moore stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
He said after racing in restricted room between SPECIAL HEDGE and PATCH OF STARS near the 300 Metres his mount then gave ground from that point.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 PATCH OF STARS (J343) K C Leung Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of MASTER TRILLION which shifted in after bumping with SPECIAL HEDGE.
Lay in in the early part of the Home Straight, resulting in its rider K C Leung having to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 300 Metres.
PATCH OF STARS then lay in for the remainder of the event.
Horse No 12 LUCKY FIONN (J047) J McDonald For a short distance approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 DECRELOT (J551) B Thompson Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
In the early stages raced keenly when being restrained to obtain cover behind THE HEIR.
Horse No 14 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) D McDonogh Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Making the Home Turn was shifted to the outside of JOYFUL TREASURE to secure clear running and in this incident made contact with SIGHT DREAMER.
For a short distance near the 250 Metres raced tight between SIGHT DREAMER and JOYFUL TREASURE.

Firming favourite Lucky Fionn just got the better of Good Luck Babe after hitting the lead 60m out following a rails run from midfield for a first win at his 10th start. Good Luck Babe stayed on nicely to finish a close second after settling on the leader's back from gate one. He had been heading in the right direction in two prior starts. Lean Master wouldn't go down without a fight after leading from gate sixth. The move to a 10-pound claimer nearly worked the oracle. Master Trillion got going late for fourth without threatening the top three after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest run following a runner-up result last start. Patch Of Stars made ground late for fifth after travelling five back and one off the fence. He can bob up at any moment after running with merit in each of his four starts. Flying Amani made ground late near the inside after settling fifth last from gate 12. It was an encouraging debut performance.
