Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (462) - WANG TAK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CHARMING BABE (J513) J Orman Approaching the 400 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between COSMO NAVIGATOR and GOOD PROSPECT which shifted out.
In the Home Straight hung in and for some distance near the 200 Metres proved reluctant to shift to the outside of GOOD PROSPECT.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) K Teetan Bumped at the start.
When questioned regarding the performance, K Teetan stated that his mount was a little slow to begin but was able to obtain a midfield position in the early stages as anticipated.
He said leaving the 600 Metres SIGHT HAPPY came under pressure at which point he was required to urge his mount forward and in the Home Straight did not respond to his riding and was disappointing.
Trainer D A Hayes advised that SIGHT HAPPY had pleased the stable leading into the event and he had expected the horse to run well.
He added he could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of SIGHT HAPPY was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT HAPPY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 3 JUDY'S GREAT (J016) B Avdulla Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid CLUB ACE when racing keenly.
Horse No 4 FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson stated that his mount was able to hold the lead and in the Home Straight responded only fairly to his riding when placed under pressure.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 CLUB ACE (J523) H Bowman Shifted in at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Horse No 6 IRON LEGION (J459) B Thompson Near the 350 Metres was steadied away from SIGHT HAPPY.
After the event, B Thompson stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said in the early stages when caught wide he was obliged to steady his mount towards the rear of the field to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 7 COSMO NAVIGATOR (H156) A Hamelin On jumping was bumped by CLUB ACE which shifted in, resulting in COSMO NAVIGATOR becoming unbalanced.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 GOOD PROSPECT (J406) K C Leung Jumped only fairly and then raced tight to the inside of MY INTELLIGENT shortly after the start.
In the middle stages raced keenly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ACE POWER (J181) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of MY INTELLIGENT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 MY INTELLIGENT (G031) M L Yeung Near the 550 Metres was momentarily crowded between COSMO NAVIGATOR and JUDY'S GREAT which shifted out when being steadied away from CLUB ACE whilst racing keenly.
Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider M L Yeung having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
Horse No 12 TOGEPI (G458) H T Mo From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After a wide trip with cover behind midfield, outsider Charming Babe came with a perfectly timed run near the outside for a first local win at his seventh start. He was able to provide visiting rider James Orman with a first win in Hong Kong. Good Prospect found one just too good after a one-off trip from midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs. Club Ace found a couple too good after moving to the lead 200m out following a pace-stalking run from gate 10. He's close to a win after giving a decent sight in each of his four starts. Togepi dashed late down the outside for fourth after making his run from the rear out of gate 12. It was his best run of the campaign after opting to remain in Class Four off a light weight. My Intelligent stayed on for fifth after a wide trip with cover from better than midfield. It was a positive effort on his seasonal reappearance following fetlock surgery in September. Late-fancied favourite Fun N Fun Together faded despite getting an easy time in front from gate one. His first Valley experience didn't provide the desired result.
