Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (460) - WANG TAK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 YEE CHEONG SPIRIT (H379) R Moore Jumped awkwardly.
When questioned, R Moore stated that in the Home Straight he endeavoured to obtain clear running between SONIC PURSUIT and CRYSTAL POWERFUL leaving the 250 Metres.
He said when YEE CHEONG SPIRIT did not respond to his riding he then became held up from the 200 Metres when disappointed for clear running when both SONIC PURSUIT and CRYSTAL POWERFUL shifted ground after which his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 HAPPY TRIO (G244) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 EXCELLENT PEERS (G033) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 SOLAR RIVER (J308) C L Chau After being crossed by REGENT GLORY leaving the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from that runner for some distance.
C L Chau was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where his whip arm was raised above shoulder height.
Horse No 5 TRAVEL GOLF (H063) L Hewitson Bumped at the start.
Near the 600 Metres made contact with the running rail.
After the event, L Hewitson stated that under pressure in the Home Straight his mount failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 NEW POWER (H325) M L Yeung Trainer C W Chang confirmed that the instructions were to take up a forward position.
He added such instructions were the same instructions he issued at the horse's last start on 5 January 2025 when NEW POWER settled further back on that occasion after beginning awkwardly.
Horse No 8 SUPER SIXTY (J071) A Badel Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 REGENT GLORY (E323) A Hamelin Leaving the 700 Metres raced keenly after being crossed by SWEET DIAMOND.
Horse No 10 CRYSTAL POWERFUL (H068) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 GLORIOUS EXPERT (J028) K Teetan Near the 600 Metres improved to the inside of YEE CHEONG SPIRIT when racing keenly and shortly afterwards was steadied when YEE CHEONG SPIRIT (R Moore) shifted in.
R Moore was advised to exercise more care.
After the event, K Teetan stated that from his wide barrier his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and said he issued such instructions as GLORIOUS EXPERT had raced too keenly at its last start when ridden in a forward position.

Favourite Super Sixty just scrambled in after claiming the lead 80m out following a dream run from gate two for a first win at his 12th start. Happy Trio ran on strongly with one wider out to finish a close second after making his run five back and three deep with cover. He was able to back up a last-start win. New Power just held on for third after moving to the lead near the 100m following a speed-tracking run from a tricky gate. He's close to a win. Excellent Peers rushed home late down the outside to just miss a placing after making his run second last from gate 11. He can break through at any moment after filling the frame in four consecutive starts. Sonic Pursuit made some ground for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's still a work in progress but has shown flashes of ability in his five starts. Solar River just held his ground after a rails run from midfield. He has failed to build on a recent near win at Sha Tin. Yee Cheong Spirit was caught up in traffic and unable to improve in the straight run from near the rear. He had an excuse.
