Hameron took the short route home from behind midfield to lead 50m out and just got the better of Super Unicorn for a third win at his 23rd start. Punted late Super Unicorn came up just short after a rails run from better than midfield. It was a return to form on his past few starts. Favourite Soleil Fighter ran on well for third settling behind midfield and one off the fence following a sluggish start. It was another good run carrying top weight following a win. Quantum Patch found a few too good after taking off 500m out to briefly lead 150m out following a patient ride three from the rear. He does appear from his past three starts to be near a rating bottom. Viva Graciousness stayed on OK for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a fair effort in a higher grade after waking up over the Valley 1,650m with a win and three placings. Aestheticism was short of room at times when trying to wind up through the centre upon straightening following a patient ride second last from gate 10. New Forest threw in the towel when getting buffeted around just under the 100m after getting his own way in front from gate seven.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (446) - KAP SHUI MUN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 SOLEIL FIGHTER (J127) K Teetan When questioned, K Teetan stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position and lead if possible.

He said prior to the start being effected SOLEIL FIGHTER became a little fractious in the starting gates and as a result was slow to begin.

He said soon after SOLEIL FIGHTER was crowded to the inside of NEW FOREST and as a result he was obliged to settle in a midfield position.

He added that near the 500 Metres when QUANTUM PATCH improved to his outside he was reluctant to commence a forward move at that stage as his mount was carrying the top weight of 135 lbs.

He added when QUANTUM PATCH improved past his mount SOLEIL FIGHTER commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from VIVA GRACIOUSNESS passing the 500 Metres.

He further stated that after improving to the outside in the Home Straight SOLEIL FIGHTER responded to his riding, however, in his opinion, its run peaked passing the 100 Metres.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SIMPLY MAVERICK (H346) L Ferraris Near the 200 Metres was steadied to avoid CAPITAL LEGEND when that runner shifted out slightly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 HAMERON (H265) T Marquand Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 AESTHETICISM (H289) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

For some distance near the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 6 STORMI (K084) C L Chau From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out when racing tight to the inside of MIGHTY COMMANDER.

Horse No 8 DEVAS TWELVE (H435) K De Melo Was found to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Approaching the 100 Metres was shifted to the inside of NEW FOREST to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with MIGHTY COMMANDER.

After the event, K De Melo stated that from his wide barrier his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Trainer W Y So confirmed the instructions and advised he issued such instructions to offset the wide barrier and to avoid DEVAS TWELVE racing wide.

Horse No 9 MIGHTY COMMANDER (J360) A Badel The tongue tie was refitted on arrival at the Start.

Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from NEW FOREST.

Bumped near the 100 Metres.

After the event, A Badel stated that his mount raced keenly behind the lead and as a result did not run on when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, DRACO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
