Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (445) - MA WAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) E C W Wong On jumping shifted out and made contact with AWESOME TREASURE when that runner shifted in slightly.
As a result, ETERNAL FORTUNE became unbalanced and lost ground.
After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a consequence was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 GUSTOSISIMO (J303) B Avdulla On jumping was bumped by HAPPY FAT CAT which shifted in slightly.
Near the 150 Metres became slightly unbalanced when it attempted to jump a plastic bag which was blown on the track during the running of the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) A Atzeni Slow to begin.
Near the 1100 Metres was hampered when taken wider by TURF PHOENIX.
Horse No 5 SPICY GOLD (H440) A Badel Dislodged its rider A Badel without incident on entering the track.
Jockey Badel quickly remounted before proceeding to the Start.
Was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 SOLID CAR (K058) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 9 YOUNG ARROW (J401) H Bentley Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to allow GUSTOSISIMO to cross.
Horse No 10 GIANT LEAP (J143) B Thompson Shortly after the start bumped with GUSTOSISIMO which shifted in.
After the 1100 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of GUSTOSISIMO which lay in when being corrected by its rider B Avdulla.
Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres got its head up and over-raced.
GIANT LEAP continued to race keenly throughout the middle stages.
Horse No 11 TURF PHOENIX (J294) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
In the early and middle stages raced keenly.
Near the 1100 Metres was steadied and shifted out to avoid ENDUED.
Making the first turn lay out and was steadied when racing behind GIANT LEAP.
Horse No 12 ENDUED (K033) H Doyle Approaching the 1100 Metres was checked when crowded between YOUNG ARROW which shifted out slightly and GIANT LEAP which, after being taken in by GUSTOSISIMO (B Avdulla), then shifted in and away from that runner.
B Avdulla was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts sooner than what he did on this occasion.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Gustosisimo was prominent one off the fence before hitting the lead 150m out and just scrambling in for a second win from seven starts for his new trainer this term. Favourite Spicy Gold ran on nicely to finish a close second following a rails run from midfield. He continues to run well over this course and distance. Solid Car ran on nicely near the inside for third after turning the final bend four from the rear. It was an eye-catching run with a switch to the Valley for his second local start. Golden Empire kept on all right after a box-seat run. It was a positive showing with a return to Class Three following a win. Happy Fat Cat was on his tippy toes 100m out after clearing to lead from gate 10. He can get away with a race shortly after giving a good sight in his past four starts. Young Arrow produced only a grinding effort to finish sixth without threatening the top five following a one-off trip from midfield. He couldn't build on a pair of eye-catching thirds. A Americ Te Specso came from last and down the outside to finish next best following a sluggish start. Endued stayed on all right after copping a bad check 1,050m out.
