Race Six : (443) - THE CONSENSUS CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192) A Atzeni After the event, A Atzeni stated that his mount travelled only fairly throughout the event which he attributed to the horse carrying the top weight of 135 lbs.
He said when under pressure in the Home Straight FLAMINGO TRILLION finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 AGENDA (K160) T Marquand Bumped at the start.
Horse No 4 PERFECT TEAM (H120) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 STAR MAC (J053) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and was then crowded between WINNING STEPS and SAMARKAND which shifted out abruptly.
When placed under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight lay in.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SAMARKAND (H070) H Doyle Shifted out abruptly at the start.
Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of H Doyle, 5th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, she was nonetheless reminded of her obligation to ensure that she fully rides her mounts out to the finish of the race.
Horse No 7 CHARITY GAIN (H431) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 FALLON (H219) B Thompson Kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.
Approaching the 200 Metres lay out, resulting in its rider B Thompson having to stop riding and straighten his mount.

Horse No 12 SURE JOYFUL (G125) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.

Fallon travelled one off behind midfield and got up in the concluding stages with two wider out for a third win from 19 starts at his first outing over the Valley 1,800m. Charity Gain came from last to just grab second after settling last from gate 11. It was another fine performance despite a rise in class following a win. Favourite Star Mac ran on nicely for third after biding his time two from the rear. He was able to back up a last-start win. Sure Joyful ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from better than midfield. He's given a decent sight in his past two of three starts following a rise in class. Samarkand lost a placing late after moving to the lead 250m out following a box-seat run. He might be better suited over a mile trip. Winning Steps made headway late without threatening after making his run one from the rear. Perfect Team ran on without threatening from near the rear. He prefers dirt racing. Outgate didn't find much after a one-off trip sitting midfield from gate 12. Flamingo Trillion came up empty after a one-out, one-back run. He was not suited by the quick pace but it was another disappointing run.
