Race Ten : (436) - PRIMULA HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SWIFT ASCEND (H395) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 INVINCIBLE SHIELD (K168) T Marquand Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 MATTERS MOST (K154) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1100 Metres and again near the 1000 Metres was corrected by its rider M F Poon when it shifted in towards ALSONSO.
As a consequence MATTERS MOST raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 FRANCIS MEYNELL (J394) M Chadwick After the event, M Chadwick reported that his mount was disadvantaged by having to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a consequence gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 I P O BROS (K193) P N Wong Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 11 ALSONSO (J405) A Badel Leaving the 1100 Metres was momentarily crowded by MATTERS MOST which shifted in before being corrected by its rider M F Poon.
Horse No 12 LIFELINE EXPRESS (H439) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 FREE PONY (K229) B Thompson After being placed into the barriers became fractious and struck its head on the front of the starting gates, resulting in it sustaining a laceration to the poll.
Acting on veterinary advice that FREE PONY was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
The barrier manners of FREE PONY were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FREE PONY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No PRINCE OF PORTY (H009) M F Poon Withdrawn on 15.2.25 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MATTERS MOST.
Before being allowed to race again, PRINCE OF PORTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Invincible Shield travelled midfield on the rails and ran on strongly to hit the front late and hold off the fast-finishing Lifeline Express for a win at his second local start. He entered yesterday's run off a trial win following a ground-covering defeat on debut. Punted late Lifeline Express came with a bold run down the outside to just miss after turning the final bend one from the rear. He keeps promising without delivering on a win line this season. Glory Elite held on well for third after setting a strong pace from gate nine. He's close to a win. Lucy In The Sky stayed on fourth best after making his run fifth along the inside. He's a good money spinner for connections. Favourite Swift Ascend finished next best but didn't help himself when running about under pressure following a one-off trip from midfield. Alsonso came from towards the rear to finish next best without threatening the top five finishers. He's looking forward to a downgrade.
