Recap by phillip woo

Precision Goal led and fought back when headed by favourite Lucky Touch 250m out to take control near the 100m for a third win from his past four starts despite a return to Class Four. He remains one to follow on this surface. Lucky Touch found one too good after poking his head in front 250m out following a prominent run one off the fence. He ran well but wasn't good enough to give the winner 14 pounds. Sky Vino found a couple too smart after a speed-tracking run from gate three. It was a positive showing on the all-weather. Escape Route dashed late down the outside for fourth without threatening the top three travelling three from the rear from gate 12. It was a better effort with a switch in surfaces. Brave Witness made good ground late near the inside for fifth after making his run third last from gate 14. It was a positive showing following a stable change and rare appearance on the all-weather surface. Plunged late in betting Shanghai Style weakened after a box-seat run. He just doesn't handle a mile trip. Sovereign Fund just plodded after a rails run from behind midfield. He's limited.
