Recap by phillip woo

Veteran Charming Steed travelled one-off from better than midfield, moved to the lead 250m and was too good for a fourth win from 44 starts at his initial start over the dirt 1,800m. Punted late Forever Folks ran on nicely for second without threatening the winner following a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a better effort with a return to his preferred dirt surface. Backed late in betting Glorious Journey had to settle for third after claiming the lead 450m out settling third and one off the fence from gate eight. It was a good run down in grade trying the dirt for the first time. Viva Chaleur made some ground late for fourth after making his run three from the rear. He has raced well to fill the frame in three of his past four starts following a return to dirt racing. Perfect Timing came from last to finish a distant fifth. It was his best run from 10 starts at his initial run on the all-weather surface. S J Tourbillon only plodded after a rails run from midfield. Favourite Reliable Profit ran on without ever looking a threat settling two from the rear. He didn't seem to enjoy the track conditions.
