Recap by phillip woo

Californiatotality kept grinding away after a speed-tracking role from gate 10 to overhaul long-time leader Pray For Mir 50m out for a fifth win from 16 starts and three from six outings this term. He's a very progressive type. Pray For Mir gave a cheeky sight after dictating the run from gate 11. He relished a step back up to the distance of a near win two runs ago. Plunged late in betting, Packing Turbine stayed on well to finish a close third after a prominent run on the fence. It was a return to form with a step up to 1,800m. Midori Giant ran on nicely for fourth settling last from gate 12. He was able to build on an unlucky run on his local debut last month over 1,600m. Lo Rider made good ground late for fifth settling third last from gate nine. He's still acclimatising but has flashed ability in his three local runs. Ching stayed on without threatening after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. Sensationally backed Prestige Good only plodded after getting impeded 130m out following a one-out, one-back run.
