Recap by phillip woo

La Forza drew clear near the 100m after leading on the stands side from gate seven for a second win from four starts. It was an excellent effort wearing blinkers on his seasonal reappearance and he can win again. Favourite Enjoy Golf was no match for the winner after chasing the speed from gate 10. He's a winner waiting to happen following a second in three consecutive 1,000m runs. Summit Cheers ran on steadily for third from midfield on the grandstand side. He can bob up at any moment following placings in two of three runs following a downgrade. Punted late Country Dancer made up good ground late for fourth after making his run two from the rear. It was another honest performance. Jumbo Treasure ran on well for fifth settling behind midfield after badly dipping soon after the start. It was a pleasing debut. Metro Warrior gradually faded after prompting the pace on the far side from a difficult gate one. Panda made noticeable ground late through the middle to finish next best.

When questioned, H Bentley stated that his instructions were to lead the event but after jumping awkwardly his mount settled further back in the early stages.

He said near the 800 Metres when positioned to the outside of SUMMIT CHEERS he elected to allow that runner to cross him as he felt he would have had to make too much use of his mount to hold that position.

He added that the decision to allow SUMMIT CHEERS to cross was also influenced by the fact that DIVINE MOONLIGHT had given ground in the Home Straight after being ridden to lead its first race start.

Horse No 7 JUMBO TREASURE (K249) C Y Ho On jumping blundered badly, became unbalanced and lost ground.

Raced keenly in the early stages.
