Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (416) - TVB HEROES IN WHITE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 BRIGHT DAY (J530) H Bowman H Bowman pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 900 Metres (see RISING FROM ASHES).
Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance near the 400 Metres.
Horse No 2 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) A Hamelin H Bowman (BRIGHT DAY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of RISING FROM ASHES, resulting in RISING FROM ASHES being checked and shifting out, resulting in REZEKI being crowded between RISING FROM ASHES and HONG LOK GOLF and also having to be checked.
H Bowman was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 19 February 2025 at Happy Valley.
In addition, Jockey Bowman was fined $60,000.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 3 MAJESTIC EXPRESS (J244) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and near the 800 Metres was taken wider when being steadied to avoid CALL ME GORGEOUS.
Horse No 4 HONG LOK GOLF (J517) H Bentley After the 1100 Metres was bumped and taken wider by RIGHTEOUS ARION when that runner was taken out by BLAZING WIND.
When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, H Bentley stated that after following RIGHTEOUS ARION during the event he endeavoured to improve to that runner's outside to obtain clear running between RIGHTEOUS ARION and MAJESTIC EXPRESS.
He said as he commenced to do so, HONG LOK GOLF lay in and away from MAJESTIC EXPRESS when that runner shifted in slightly and as a result he was disappointed for clear running near the 350 Metres between RIGHTEOUS ARION and MAJESTIC EXPRESS.
He added as a result HONG LOK GOLF then lost momentum and did not obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres when it shifted to the outside of MAJESTIC EXPRESS and finished the race off well.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 CALL ME GORGEOUS (K091) M Chadwick Approaching the 800 Metres was checked when crowded between ALSONSO and REZEKI which shifted out when being checked.
Horse No 6 TRIUMPHANT MORE (J489) K De Melo Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of MAJESTIC EXPRESS which shifted in slightly when it jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 7 ALSONSO (J405) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 8 AURIO (K056) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 800 Metres was steadied away from RISING FROM ASHES.
Near the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving behind BRIGHT DAY before shifting to that runner's inside near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 9 EVERSTAR (K264) B Thompson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 REZEKI (J340) K Teetan Checked near the 900 Metres when crowded between RISING FROM ASHES and HONG LOK GOLF.
Near the 100 Metres was steadied away from HONG LOK GOLF (H Bentley) when that runner shifted out.
H Bentley was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 12 RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) A Badel Bumped at the start.
Taken out after the 1100 Metres.

Righteous Arion travelled one-out, one-back, moved to the lead 50m out and just held on for a fourth win at his 31st start and first at Sha Tin. He's as honest as the day is long and made full use of the light weight. Raging favourite Hong Lok Golf was very unlucky after getting pocketed for a run until the 100m following a one-off trip from midfield. He remains one to follow. Punted late Blazing Wind wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the run from gate four. It was a good effort up in grad following a win. Majestic Express couldn't quite keep a straight line but did sustain his bid from near the back and 750m out to just miss third. He's not a prolific winner but rarely produces a bad run. Triumphant More wasn't beaten far in the end after tracking the leader from a tricky gate. It was a positive effort up in grade following wins in two of his first three starts. Aurio came from near last without a clear run from the 300m until the 150m along the inside for sixth. He has struck traffic issues in three consecutive defeats.
