Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (403) - HOI YUEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early part of the Home Straight lay in when being shifted to the outside.
After the event, C Y Ho reported that his mount was disadvantaged when the pace steadied in the middle stages and as a result found it difficult to run on in the Home Straight from back in the field.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 TAKE ACTION (J098) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and lost ground.
Shortly after the start raced in restricted room between DRAGON DELIGHT and AMAZING AWARD which shifted out.
After the event, B Avdulla reported that his mount did not travel well at any stage and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.
He added that in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with the run, particularly as TAKE ACTION was not beaten too far from the placegetters.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 MISSION STRIKE (J377) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
For some distance after the 150 Metres raced in restricted room between NORTHERN BEAST and DRAGON STAR when improving between those two runners.
Horse No 7 AMAZING AWARD (J236) K Teetan Shortly after the start raced tight to the outside of KINGLY DEMEANOR which shifted out.
Horse No 9 DRAGON STAR (H128) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 DRAGON DELIGHT (G395) E C W Wong Approaching the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid DRAGON STAR (C L Chau) when that runner shifted in when not quite clear.
C L Chau will be advised to exercise more care.

Favourite Northern Beast got up 20m out after saving ground from midfield for a fourth win and first over 1,800m from 23 starts. The well-backed Dragon Star found one just too good after briefly leading 60m out following a speed-tracking run from gate 11. It was a better effort. Mission Strike ran on nicely for third after coming off heels near the 100m following a patient run five back on the fence. It was a much-improved effort with a switch to the Valley. Amazing Award made headway late down the outside for fourth after biding his time second last from gate seven. It was another decent effort with a step up to 1,800m following a mile win. Smart City only plodded after getting all the favours in the box seat from gate five. It was an OK effort with a step up to 1,800m. Punted late, Kingly Demeanor was stopping 60m out after clearing to lead from gate six. Flying Silver only held his ground after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's struggling to recapture top form. Take Action never got in on the act travelling two from the rear. He failed with a step up to 1,800m carrying 11 pounds more following a win.
