Recap by phillip woo

Master Phoenix settled midfield on the rails and responded well to get up 10m out for a first win at his fourth start. Run Ran Run was just touched off late after moving to the lead 160m out following a handy run one off with cover. He was able to build on back-to-back fifths. Blazing Beam ran on nicely near the outside to miss by a length after a one-off trip settling behind midfield from gate 10. It was an eye-catching effort on debut. Punted late Club Ace gradually faded after poking his head in front near the 200m after prompting the pace between runners from gate seven. It was another positive performance at his third start despite a rise in trip. Drawn 14 carrying top weight, Panda came with a ducking-and-weaving run for fifth after turning the final bend one from the rear. He's a winner waiting to happen from a better draw over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Joyful Treasure stayed on OK after a prominent run along the inside. He's finished thereabouts in his past two of three starts but needs to mature a bit more.
