Recap by phillip woo

Mid Winter Wind came from near last and off heels 100m out to just overhaul favourite Sunny Da Best. It was an impressive debut effort in Hong Kong. Sunny Da Best found one better on the day after rushing to the lead 150m out following a perfect run on the leader's back. It was another good effort up in grade carrying a lighter weight following a win. Lo Pan Spirit stayed on nicely for third after a wide with cover trip travelling midfield from gate 11. The move to a tongue tie and step back to 1,200m nearly worked the oracle. Punted late Lucky Eight plugged on for fourth without threatening the first three after a wide with cover trip from better than midfield. It was another honest effort over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Lightly raced Beauty Light came from last to take fifth. It was an encouraging effort up in grade carrying 19 pounds less. Carrying top weight, Packing Power made some ground late two from the rear without threatening.
