Recap by phillip woo

Sunlight Power settled prominently on the inside, moved to the lead near the 200m and proved too good for a second win this season following four luckless runs. Yellowfin came from last and widest out to grab second in the final few strides. He was able to build on a season-best fourth last start over the dirt 1,650m. Karma was just outdashed for second with one wider out after biding his time third last in the small field. He is always a chance over 1,600m. Flaming Rabbit stayed on late for fourth after fading back to sit one off from around midfield. It was his best effort from six starts this term. The Golden Scenery gradually faded after improving three wide from near the rear to sit second 900m out. The big weight didn't help his cause. Woodfire Bro didn't find much when asked for an effort after a speed-tracking run. Voyage Samurai was disappointing after getting his own way in front from gate three. He's now come up flat in back-to-back runs.

Horse No 1 THE GOLDEN SCENERY (E379) B Avdulla Approaching the 200 Metres was bumped by VOYAGE SAMURAI which shifted out.

After the event, B Avdulla stated that when caught wide in the early stages and with the pace of the event being run outside of standard time he elected to allow THE GOLDEN SCENERY to stride forward from the 1000 Metres to avoid racing wide.

Horse No 3 KARMA (G392) C Y Ho Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) M F Poon Slow to begin.

Horse No 6 VOYAGE SAMURAI (J026) K C Leung Shifted out near the 200 Metres and was bumped.

After the event, K C Leung reported that his mount did not travel well in the lead and was under pressure from the middle stages.

He added that, in his opinion, VOYAGE SAMURAI may be better suited with the addition of blinkers.

Trainer F C Lor confirmed that he had been pleased with VOYAGE SAMURAI leading into today's race.

Mr Lor added that he would now apply blinkers to VOYAGE SAMURAI as recommended by Jockey Leung.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 YELLOWFIN (G326) L Hewitson After the event, L Hewitson reported that his mount jumped only fairly and as a result from its wide barrier settled further back than had been intended.

He said after being eased to the outside of KARMA in the early part of the Home Straight YELLOWFIN ran on well.

Sent for sampling post-race.
