Recap by phillip woo
Sunlight Power settled prominently on the inside, moved to the lead near the 200m and proved too good for a second win this season following four luckless runs. Yellowfin came from last and widest out to grab second in the final few strides. He was able to build on a season-best fourth last start over the dirt 1,650m. Karma was just outdashed for second with one wider out after biding his time third last in the small field. He is always a chance over 1,600m. Flaming Rabbit stayed on late for fourth after fading back to sit one off from around midfield. It was his best effort from six starts this term. The Golden Scenery gradually faded after improving three wide from near the rear to sit second 900m out. The big weight didn't help his cause. Woodfire Bro didn't find much when asked for an effort after a speed-tracking run. Voyage Samurai was disappointing after getting his own way in front from gate three. He's now come up flat in back-to-back runs.
