Recap by phillip woo

Outsider Happy Trio defied a wide trip without cover sitting third from gate seven to just get the better of odds-on favourite Sight Happy for a fifth win from 38 starts. It was his best performance of the season with a return to blinkers. Sight Happy ran on nicely near the inside to just miss after losing ground and momentum when copping a check 500m out travelling midfield on the fence. He remains one to follow. Perfect General ran on nicely with two wider out to just take third after improving from near the rear to sit three wide with cover in midfield at the 750m. It was a solid effort after a 98-day break between runs. Late-fancied Fortune Warrior just missed a placing after turning the final bend with one wider out following a wide trip settling three from the rear. It was another pleasing effort after filling the frame in two prior starts on the dirt. Punted late King Profit ran on all right for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's shown some progress in recent runs and should find his mark shortly in this grade. Mr Good Vibes made inroads late for sixth after making his run two from the rear.

Race Five : (371) - KOWLOON PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 KING PROFIT (J539) A Pouchin Over-raced throughout the early and middle stages and after the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from MOTOMAN.

After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse was lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, KING PROFIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 2 PERFECT GENERAL (J417) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with FORTUNE WARRIOR.

In the early stages raced keenly and making the turn after the 1000 Metres improved to the inside of KING PROFIT as that horse was being steadied to obtain cover.

KING PROFIT (A Pouchin) then shifted in slightly, resulting in PERFECT GENERAL having to be steadied to avoid the heels of KING PROFIT.

A Pouchin was advised to exercise more care.

PERFECT GENERAL then continued to race keenly in the middle stages.

Horse No 3 MOTOMAN (J436) A Atzeni Raced tight for some distance after the 100 Metres when improving between E UNIVERSE and ONE FOR ALL which shifted out.

After the event, A Atzeni stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and, in his opinion, resented racing amongst other horses.

He said as a result MOTOMAN finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) Z Purton Bumped at the start.

Near the 550 Metres commenced to race keenly when racing tight to the inside of MOTOMAN and as a result was checked to avoid BINGO BABE when that runner was eased when racing tight to the inside of E UNIVERSE.

Approaching the 200 Metres blundered after making contact with MOTOMAN when improving into a tight run between BINGO BABE and MOTOMAN which shifted in.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 BINGO BABE (K115) M F Poon Near the 550 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of E UNIVERSE which lay in before being corrected by its rider M Chadwick.

Horse No 8 FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229) A Badel Bumped on jumping.

Horse No 9 HAPPY TRIO (G244) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

After the event, H Bentley reported that his instructions were to take up a forward position.

When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer D J Whyte stated that at its previous race start HAPPY TRIO did not run out the 1650 Metres of the race.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 FOXHUNTER KING (J044) M L Yeung Shifted out on jumping, made contact with SIGHT HAPPY and became unbalanced.

When commencing to improve to the outside of E UNIVERSE after the 100 Metres had to be checked when disappointed for clear running between KING PROFIT and E UNIVERSE which was taken out by MOTOMAN when that runner was taken out by ONE FOR ALL (L Ferraris).

Whilst the Stewards found that FOXHUNTER KING had not established clear running, L Ferraris was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out in this incident.

Horse No 11 THE PRIME (J352) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 12 MR GOOD VIBES (H180) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and was then crowded by E UNIVERSE which shifted in.
