Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (364) - MR VITALITY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 PACKING POWER (J284) C Y Ho After the event, C Y Ho stated that the instructions were to find cover on his mount as connections were looking to have the horse to settle with a view to stepping it up in distance for its next race start.
He said in the early stages after being crossed, PACKING POWER did not appreciate racing behind other runners and then in the Home Straight lay in whilst giving ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 SEASONS WIT (H223) B Shinn Jumped awkwardly and then bumped with KA YING SUPERB.
From the 400 Metres to the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
Again approaching the 150 Metres became held up for clear running behind KA YING SUPERB which was giving ground and as a result could not be tested until near the 50 Metres.
Horse No 3 SKY TRUST (J161) H Bowman When being shifted across behind runners in the early stages, SKY TRUST became unbalanced when it lowered its head.
After the event, H Bowman reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions and said he issued such instructions as SKY TRUST had performed well previously when being ridden in this manner and also in its most recent barrier trial conducted on 3 January 2025.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 BUNDLE AWARD (K020) J McDonald On arrival at the Start, it was noted that BUNDLE AWARD had lost its left front plate.
This plate was refitted.
BUNDLE AWARD was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Near the 500 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between UP WITH CHARM and MIDORI FUJI which shifted out to improve.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 SPANISH FLAME (K013) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
When finishing the race off well was steadied approaching the winning post to avoid WINNING WING which shifted in slightly.
When questioned, A Atzeni stated that his mount, which was having its second race start, raced keenly and when positioned to the inside of SEASONS WIT near the 800 Metres, he elected to restrain his mount when SPANISH FLAME was reluctant to hold its position to the inside of SEASONS WIT.
Horse No 8 LOST CHILD (G461) C Williams Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 9 ROMANTIC SON (J537) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 14 KA YING SUPERB (J091) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.

Favourite Bundle Award settled one-off in midfield, moved to the lead 150m and kept on gamely for a first win at his third local start. Sky Trust ran on nicely to finish a close second after being ridden for luck third last from a wide draw. He clearly has the tools to add to an earlier win. Solid Impact closed off well for third after making his run four from the rear. It was his best effort from five starts this term. Hammered late in betting, New Forest found a few just too good after reclaiming the lead 300m out settling third along the fence. It was a good effort on his local debut. Drawn 13, Winning Wing came from last and widest out for fifth. He's made a good impression in both local runs. Romantic Son ran on without threatening after a wide without cover trip from behind midfield from a tricky gate. He had an excuse.
