After a rails run from midfield, Rubylot got the gaps when required to get up 60m out for a fifth win from 16 starts and third success from six runs over 1,400m. He's heading to bigger and better things. Favourite Young Champion ran on nicely to finish a close second after barging his way into the open 350m out following a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's improved. Johannes Brahms ran on nicely for third after getting held up for a run until the 150m following a patient ride two from the rear. It was another solid effort. Packing Hermod hit the line well down the outside for fourth after settling last from gate 11. It was a fine effort carrying 12 pounds more. Glory Elite gradually faded after dictating the run from gate five. It was a better run with a step up to 1,400m at his third run in Class Two. Dancing Code ran on steadily to finish next best after a wide run without cover from behind midfield. Tourbillon Prince just held his ground after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He wasn't good enough in a higher grade. Sunlight Power was held up for a good part of the straight after making his run one from the rear.

Race Seven : (343) - THE RACING CLUB CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 PACKING HERMOD (J277) L Hewitson Bumped near the 50 Metres.

After the event, L Hewitson stated the intention was to hold a more forward position.

He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to restrain his mount to settle at the rear of the field to avoid racing wide.

Horse No 2 OUTGATE (H113) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping.

Approaching the 350 Metres was bumped by RUBYLOT and taken wider when RUBYLOT shifted to the outside of SING DRAGON to obtain clear running.

Horse No 3 DANCING CODE (G365) E C W Wong In the early and middle stages raced keenly and was left racing wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.

Near the 400 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and as a result shifted out.

Near the 50 Metres was bumped by PACKING HERMOD which shifted in.

Horse No 4 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.

Near the 400 Metres improved into a tight run between OUTGATE and TOURBILLON PRINCE and as a result made contact with TOURBILLON PRINCE for some distance thereafter.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 DIVANO (J142) A Pouchin Over the final 450 Metres was held up for clear running and as a result could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.

Horse No 6 RUBYLOT (H412) B Avdulla Near the 350 Metres shifted out to obtain clear running and made contact with OUTGATE.

Horse No 7 SING DRAGON (J141) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.

Horse No 8 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) C L Chau Bumped on jumping.

Near the 400 Metres C L Chau dropped his left rein for a number of strides.

After the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by DANCING CODE (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted out.

Near the 250 Metres SUNLIGHT POWER was eased when crowded between PACKING HERMOD and DANCING CODE which continued to shift out.

Apprentice Wong was reprimanded.

After being shifted to the inside of DANCING CODE near the 200 Metres then became held up for clear running between TOURBILLON PRINCE and DANCING CODE which shifted back in.

As a result, SUNLIGHT POWER could not be ridden out for the remainder of the event.

Horse No 9 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) A Badel Bumped near the 400 Metres.

Horse No 10 FANTASTIC TREASURE (E269) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.

Horse No 11 GLORY ELITE (H311) K C Leung Bumped at the start.

Horse No 12 JOHANNES BRAHMS (K014) A Atzeni Bounded on jumping and lost ground.

Shortly after the start was then eased when crowded between FANTASTIC TREASURE and SUNLIGHT POWER.

Near the 800 Metres was steadied away from YOUNG CHAMPION when racing tight to the inside of SUNLIGHT POWER.

Passing the 400 Metres was disappointed for clear running between DANCING CODE and TOURBILLON PRINCE and as a result made contact with DANCING CODE.

JOHANNES BRAHMS was then held up for clear running until near the 200 Metres when improved into a tight run between YOUNG CHAMPION and TOURBILLON PRINCE.
