Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (325) - LEIGHTON HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MIGHTY STRIDE (G346) A Badel Shortly after the start raced in restricted room between LUCKY ARCHANGEL and CONSPIRATOR.
Held up for a short distance near the 450 Metres.
Horse No 3 FRANCIS MEYNELL (J394) M Chadwick Lay out under pressure in the Home Straight.
After the event, M Chadwick reported that from the outside barrier he was instructed to hold an on-pace position.
He said when caught wide early he elected to continue forward to lead to avoid covering additional ground.
Trainer W K Mo confirmed the instructions were to take up a forward position but not necessarily lead.
He said FRANCIS MEYNELL jumped well today with the hood being removed from its gear.
Horse No 4 PAKISTAN LEGACY (J363) Z Purton Lay out near the 550 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 VON BAER (K198) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 6 RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) Y L Chung Shifted in at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Near the 550 Metres was steadied away from CONSPIRATOR which was taken out.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 SUPER LEGENDS (H364) H T Mo Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 CONSPIRATOR (K090) L Hewitson Shortly after the start was tightened for room between MIGHTY STRIDE and RIGHTEOUS ARION which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
After the event, L Hewitson reported that his mount raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
He said near the 550 Metres he was taken wider when LUCKY ARCHANGEL was taken out by PAKISTAN LEGACY.
He said at this point CONSPIRATOR changed stride and came under pressure soon after before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 SILK ROAD GLORY (J361) H Bentley Jumped only fairly and shortly afterwards was crowded by AERIS NOVA which shifted in.
Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.

Horse No 12 GAMEPLAYER ELITE (H356) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped.
In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 600 Metres was steadied away from AERIS NOVA.

Second favourite Super Legends settled prominently on the fence, switched off the heels of favourite Pakistan Legacy 150m out and just got up in the concluding stages for a third win, despite a rise in class, to go with two seconds from seven starts this term. Pakistan Legacy found one just too good after cruising to the lead 300m out following a speed-tracking run. It was a good run on his local debut. Aeris Nova ran on well to just take third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was his best run from four local starts. Francis Meynell kept on well for fourth after clearing to the lead from the widest draw. It was a vastly improved effort. Lucky Archangel gradually faded after sitting third and three wide without cover from a tricky gate. He's gone OK in back-to-back Sha Tin runs but is more effective at the Valley. Mighty Stride ran on without threatening after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He needed a stronger tempo. Righteous Arion just held his ground after a wide without cover trip travelling midfield from gate 11.
