Recap by phillip woo

After being asked to pick up 450m out following a patient ride three from the rear, Yee Cheong Spirit quickened nicely to get up 100m out for an overdue win after placing in three of four other starts. Telecom Dragon ran on well near the inside for second after a one-off trip from just worse than midfield. He is a winner waiting to happen with placings in both starts this term. Spicy So Smart kept on well for third after assuming the lead from Hayday 500m out following a trailing run on the fence. It was another good effort following a last-start win in Class Five. Post-time favourite Fun N Glory ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. It was another honest performance. Miu Fa Fa kept on reasonably well for fifth after a handy run three wide with cover. It was his best effort from six starts at his first try over the Valley 1,200m. Sky Song ran on without threatening after settling last from gate 12. The Prime got going late without threatening after travelling two from the rear. Motoman only plodded after a rails run from behind midfield despite a downgrade and riding change to Zac Purton.

Horse No 1 MOTOMAN (J436) Z Purton Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded by FUN N GLORY which shifted in as it hung in.

Near the 600 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted away from the running rail after FUN N GLORY, which was racing in advance, made contact with the rail.

After the event, Z Purton could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
