Recap by phillip woo

After moving to the lead 300m out following a wide trip with cover better than midfield, early favourite Excel Wongchoy edged clear for a first win at his 11th start. Jumbo Fortune dashed nicely through the middle to easily take second after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another good effort without winning despite a switch in surfaces. Never Peter Out stayed on well for a placing after a one-off trip from midfield. He proved a last-start win was not a fluke. Sixth Generation ran on well with three wider out to fill the frame after a patient ride three from the rear. It was a positive showing at his first go on the surface. Aca Power came from last and widest out to finish next best. He rarely produces a bad run. Forever Folks ran on without threatening near the inside after having to be ridden along to stay in touch towards the rear. He's likely looking for a 1,800m trip. Foremost Teddy was giving ground 100m out after a handy run wide without cover the entire trip from gate 11. He had a clear excuse on his dirt debut.
