Racing Incident Report
Race One : (139) - BEDFORD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 MIGHTY STEED (J384) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) A Hamelin On jumping was bumped by D STAR which shifted out.
ESCAPE ROUTE was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages from a wide barrier.
Horse No 3 GREENWICH (H328) A Atzeni After the event, A Atzeni reported that it was not the intention to lead, but due to the early stages of the race being run outside of standard time and when caught wide in the early stages, he was obliged to allow his mount to stride forward and lead.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 DRALA (J376) L Hewitson In the early stages raced keenly.
Horse No 6 HAILTOTHEVICTORS (J508) C Y Ho Slow to begin.
Near the 1550 Metres was steadied when crowded between SUPER HONG KONG and D STAR (B Avdulla) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
B Avdulla was reprimanded.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) M F Poon In the middle stages raced keenly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 CONFRINGO (J322) M Chadwick Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 9 D STAR (G374) B Avdulla Near the 250 Metres B Avdulla dropped his whip.
Approaching the 200 Metres lay in, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 DRAGON DELIGHT (G395) K Teetan Near the 200 Metres was bumped by D STAR which lay in.
Horse No 5 ENSHINE (J196) H Bowman After being fractious in the Parade Ring made contact with a rail after exiting the Parade Ring.
ENSHINE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained a wound to its left hind leg.
Acting on veterinary advice that ENSHINE was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, ENSHINE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a parade test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

D Star just held on after claiming the lead 50m out for a fourth career win and third from 13 starts over this course and distance. He had been out of form but was well placed on the back of a win last term off a rating of 59. Can't Go Wong finished nicely to make it a bob of heads after settling one off the rail and underneath the eventual winner. He's a winner waiting to happen. Punted late, Dragon Delight stayed on well to finish a close third after sitting third and one off the fence with cover. He was able to back up a nice win in Class Five. Favourite Mighty Steed found a few just too good after surging to the lead 150m out along the inside after a box-seat run. He has the tools to win one soon in this grade. Escape Route came from last for fifth without threatening the top four. It was a positive effort on his season reappearance down in Class Four. Flying Silver kept on OK after a rail run in midfield. Well-backed late, Greenwich didn't get the mile trip after clearing to lead 1,200m out from a tricky gate. Enshine was withdrawn by order of the stewards on vet advice.
