Race Seven : (135) - THE KWANGTUNG HANDICAP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 MODEST GENTLEMAN (G352) H Bentley Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between MA COMET and RUBY SAILING which shifted out and away from VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE after being taken out by that runner.
Horse No 2 MA COMET (H391) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that over the concluding stages his mount, when under pressure, shifted in and away from HAPPY TANGO and as a result, when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORYTHIRTYTHREE, he elected to steady his mount.
He added that, in his opinion, MA COMET may derive benefit from today's performance as it had been approximately 6 weeks since its last race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 KOKUSHI MUSOU (G006) E C W Wong Crowded after improving to the inside of SIGHT HAPPY after the 600 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 GRAND NOVA (J323) H Bowman After the event, H Bowman stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount responded satisfactorily to his riding and he was not too disappointed with the performance of the horse.

Horse No 6 BULB EMPEROR (J241) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 RACINGRACE (J102) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly and raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) K Teetan Hung out making the turn after the 600 Metres.
After the 50 Metres was disappointed for clear running between MA COMET and HAPPY TANGO, resulting in SIGHT HAPPY having to be steadied and shifted to the outside of HAPPY TANGO to continue into clear running.
Horse No 9 CIRCUIT SEVEN (D474) M F Poon Bumped on jumping.

Horse No 11 SUPER SIXTY (J071) A Badel Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 12 RUBY SAILING (H347) M L Yeung Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Horse No COLOURFUL PRINCE (E418) L Ferraris Withdrawn on 24.10.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MODEST GENTLEMAN.
Before being allowed to race again, COLOURFUL PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Old-timer Happy Tango just got up in the final few strides after a one-out, one-back run to land a betting move. He's done very well to pick up a second win this term. Circuit Seven ran on well from behind midfield to make it close on the wire. He had gone all right in both previous starts. Super Sixty was just collared late after weaving a run to briefly lead 50m out following a one-off trip from midfield. It was his best effort from six starts. Modest Gentleman ran on strongly down the outside to just snatch fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He has shown improvement. Racingrace stayed on nicely to just miss the frame after getting caught wide without cover from midfield. It was a better performance. Ruby Sailing had his chance after a box-seat run but found a few too good. He will be looking forward to a downgrade. Victorythirtythree grudgingly gave way after getting hounded for the lead to his outside by favourite Ma Comet. Ma Comet only plodded when asked for more under the whip over the final 200m.
