Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (84) - NAM LONG SHAN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 MOMENTS IN TIME (H474) H Bowman Near the 1200 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of TELECOM FIGHTERS (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in when not fully clear.
Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care.
After the race, H Bowman reported that his mount did not feel right in its action in the early stages or the latter stages of the race and for this reason MOMENTS IN TIME was uncompetitive and tailed out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of MOMENTS IN TIME was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, MOMENT IN TIME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
Horse No 2 SWORD POINT (G448) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 ADEFILL (G317) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 CHILL CHIBI (H109) L Hewitson Approaching the turn near the 700 Metres was taken wider to a position three wide and without cover by CAPITAL DELIGHT which shifted out to gain a trailing position one-off the fence behind TURIN MASCOT.
As a result, CHILL CHIBI raced three wide and without cover for the remainder of the event.
Horse No 8 BERLIN TANGO (E120) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 KA YING GENERATION (J075) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton reported that from a wide barrier his mount was unable to show sufficient speed to take up a more forward position.
Trainer P C Ng confirmed that the pre-race plan was to endeavour to ride KA YING GENERATION in a midfield position, but given the quick tempo in the early stages, KA YING GENERATION was unable to show the necessary speed, particularly coming back in distance from 2400 Metres to 1650 Metres today.
He also added it was the horse's first start today on the All Weather track.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 CAPITAL DELIGHT (H262) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
For some distance passing the 1200 Metres commenced to over-race when being restrained off the heels of BERLIN TANGO.
Rounding the turn after the 400 Metres was held up for clear running and continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running for a major part of the Home Straight before shifting out near the 100 Metres.
Horse No 12 APACHE PASS (D433) A Atzeni Was a little slow to begin.

Race 8 (72) HELENE FEELING - Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 200 Metres and the 150 Meres when racing tight between KEEFY and DANCING CODE which shifted in slightly.
SUPERB BOY - Held up between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.

Sword Point drew clear after moving to the lead 200m out following a box-seat run. It was a return to top form following a downgrade and switch in surfaces. Favourite Adefill rallied nicely to just take second after biding his time two from the rear. He lost nothing in defeat on his favourite surface. Turin Mascot was just out-dashed for second after a oneoff trip from behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run on either surface. Old-timer Telecom Fighters kept up a good gallop for fourth after going for home on top following a speed-tracking run from gate 13. He can produce a good run now and then on either surface. Chill Chibi got going late down the outside to just miss fourth after settling three wide and four from the rear. It was an OK effort. Apache Pass stayed on all right after a one-off trip from midfield. He's a Class Three horse. Red Hare King whacked on one paced after a rail run from midfield. Capital Delight was caught in traffic and unable to improve from the 250m until the 100m following a rail run from beyond midfield.
