Recap by phillip woo

Following a handy run near the far side from a low draw, post-time favourite Beauty Waves kept on gamely after claiming the lead from Magic Control 150m out for a fourth win and first over the straight 1,000m from 12 starts. He was able to build on a solid second on opening day behind the smart Ka Ying Rising. Magic Control found one too good after moving to the front 250m out after chasing the leader Nervous Witness. It was a solid effort despite being badly handicapped following a win last start in Class Three. Whizz Kid stayed on well for third after sitting near the speed on the stands side. He is an honest 1,000m performer. Call Me Glorious kept on well for fourth after a prominent run in the centre of the track. He should come on for the run and is better suited over 1,200m. Majestic Knight made some ground without threatening from the rear after a slow start. He's a better runner at the Valley. Invincible Sage couldn't land a blow under top weight after settling on the far side from a low draw. It was an out-of-character effort.
