Recap by phillip woo
After making his run one off the fence from behind midfield, Rubylot showed a good turn of foot to claim odds-on favourite Bottomuptogether in the final strides for a fourth win and second on the bounce. He is a progressive type and should remain a live chance up in grade off a lightweight. Bottomuptogether found one just too good after rolling to the lead 200m out following a pace-stalking run from a tricky gate. He lost nothing in defeat carrying top weight. Great State ran on steadily from midfield for third without threatening the top two. He showed flashes of ability in six starts last term. Super Fortune gradually faded after dictating the run from the widest draw. It was an OK effort in a higher grade following an opening-day win. Goko Win ran on without threatening after making his run two from the rear. He appeared to need the run. Galvanic made ground to finish next best after settling last from gate seven. It was a naturally better effort at his second run this term.
