Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (10) - SUNSET PEAK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 GORGEOUS WIN (J008) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) E C W Wong Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Approaching the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of AWESOME TREASURE to continue into clear running.
Near the 100 Metres KAHOLO ANGEL was then disappointed for clear running to the inside of ALPHA ONE when that runner commenced to give ground and shift in slightly when its rider M Chadwick dropped his left rein.
As a result, KAHOLO ANGEL was checked to avoid ALPHA ONE and could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 YOUNG SUPERSTAR (J400) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the event, Y L Chung stated that his mount did not show the expected early speed and as a result settled further back in the field than intended.
He added in the Home Straight YOUNG SUPERSTAR failed to respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 ALPHA ONE (J435) M Chadwick Near the 100 Metres M Chadwick dropped his left rein for a short distance.
Horse No 5 GLORY ELITE (H311) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 POLARIS (J404) C L Chau Near the 250 Metres was bumped and became slightly unbalanced.
Horse No 9 CAPTAIN WIN (E466) K Teetan Near the 300 Metres was briefly held up behind GORGEOUS WIN and was then shifted to that runner's outside to secure clear running and in doing so made contact with POLARIS.
Horse No 10 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by YOUNG SUPERSTAR which shifted out.
Approaching the 250 Metres was briefly held up behind KING ECCELLENTE before shifting to that runner's inside to secure clear running.
Horse No 13 ENDEARED (H161) B Thompson Jumped only fairly and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 14 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No MODULECONSTRUCTION (H127) C Y Ho Withdrawn on 7.9.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter KING ECCELLENTE.
Before being allowed to race again, MODULECONSTRUCTION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Zac Purton was at his brilliant best to negotiate stall 12 aboard Gorgeous Win and steer the Danny Shum Chap-shing-trained gelding to a fourth career success. The well-backed four-year-old failed to justify short prices last term but travelled with authority before putting the race to bed. He appreciated a step into calmer waters. Derek Leung Ka-chun tried to repeat his usual tactics from the front aboard the hat-trick-seeking Glory Elite but grudgingly gave way inside the final 100m. Captain Win settled towards the rear under Karis Teetan and kept on well in the closing stages to grab third. He is as honest as the day is long. Not Usual Star stayed on willingly for fourth and may be able to go close off his current rating. Prince Of Porty was not disgraced on his return to Class Three company. Elegant Life and Endeared flew home from the rear of the field in the closing stages to grab sixth and seventh, respectively.
