Race Eight : (809) - THE IP JUG (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 CHATEAUNEUF (J219) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that with the expected fast early pace, the intention was to ride CHATEAUNEUF a little more conservatively in the early stages.
He said after making a run on CHATEAUNEUF in the Home Straight, the horse finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 AMAZING DUCK (H392) L Ferraris Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 FORTUNE RACER (J234) Y L Chung The performance of FORTUNE RACER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE RACER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 8 BALLISTIC WIN (J040) B Thompson Was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 CLEAR COURAGE (J257) M F Poon Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by ALL RICHES which shifted in slightly.
Horse No 12 MASTER OF ALL (H177) M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 RUBY SAILING (H347) M Chadwick Between the 250 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between FORTUNE RACER and MILES AWAY.
After the race, M Chadwick stated that the intention was to be in a more forward position, but after jumping only fairly and being crowded shortly after the start, RUBY SAILING did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a roarer

Ballistic Win showed a good turn of foot near the outside to win going away 50m out after making his run third last from a middle draw, scoring his first win at his seventh start. Master Of All wouldn't go down without a fight after having to work to lead from gate 12. He has really shown his true colours following the addition of blinkers in his past five starts. Enjoy Golf ran on well for third after a rail run from midfield. It was another good run carrying top weight following a win. Sweet Smile made good ground late for fourth after a rail run from behind midfield. He has shown natural progress in his four starts. Favourite Chateauneuf ran on to finish next best after biding his time wide towards the rear. It was another honest effort. All Riches gradually faded after chasing the leader one off the fence from gate nine. He did have to carry more weight following a win. Win Speed had no excuse after a box-seat run. Ruby Sailing threw in the towel over the last 150m after getting held up for a run from behind midfield until the 200m.
