Race Six : (767) - DIAMOND HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 COMING PATCH (G222) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 2 SUNNY DA BEST (J118) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SMART FIGHTER which shifted in.
Near the 100 Metres was steadied away from VANTASTIC CHOICE when that runner was giving ground.
After the race, A Atzeni reported that whilst his preference was to lead the event, he was able to obtain an on-pace position with cover behind the leaders.
He added in the Home Straight SUNNY DA BEST failed to respond to his riding and raced in a disappointing manner.
Trainer W Y So stated that, in his opinion, SUNNY DA BEST may not have appreciated the Good to Firm track conditions but he will now spell the horse having regard to today's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of SUNNY DA BEST was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY DA BEST will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 LUCKY GOLD (G112) L Hewitson Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
Horse No 5 MASTER MASTERMIND (J024) H Bowman Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to TOP PEAK which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 TOP PEAK (H441) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 AUTUMN DELIGHT (J090) C Y Ho Knuckled over badly on jumping and as a result became unbalanced and lost ground.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 KASA PAPA (G312) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For a short distance near the 150 Metres was held up for clear running behind SMART FIGHTER when that runner shifted out slightly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) Y L Chung After the race, Y L Chung stated that after his mount was bumped near the 400 Metres by LUCKY PLANET which shifted in, it then became unbalanced and failed to respond to his riding thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 LUCKY PLANET (H235) M Chadwick Lay in near the 400 Metres and was bumped.

Top Peak kept on gamely after hitting the lead 100m out after a one-off trip from midfield to make it back-to-back wins from eight starts. He will likely remain in the grade and can win again. Jumbo Fortune dashed well down the outside to just win a blanket for the minors after a patient ride one from the rear. He can bob up now and then. Beauty Alliance ran on nicely to finish a close third after making his run one off with cover from behind midfield. He is heading in the right direction. Favourite Master Mastermind just finished out of the placings after a rail run just worse than midfield. It was another honest effort despite a rise in distance. Lucky Planet hit a wall 100m out after rushing to the lead 250m out following a pace-stalking run from gate 12. He rarely produces a bad run but will likely enjoy the company shortly in Class Five. Let's Do It made good ground late near the inside after making his run at the rear of the field.
