Racing Incident Report
Race One : (723) - STANLEY GAP HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 KING INVINCIBLE (H199) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.
Approaching the 100 Metres was briefly held up before being shifted to the outside of PLENTIFUL to obtain clear running.
After the race, M Chadwick stated that after being bumped at the start and losing some ground, his mount did not travel thereafter and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
M Chadwick pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 800 Metres (see SUPER ELITE).
Horse No 2 PLENTIFUL (G400) L Ferraris Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped on the hindquarters.
After the race, L Ferraris reported that his mount lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and did not respond to his riding.
L Ferraris was warned in relation to using his whip forward of the saddle near the 50 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 GALLANT GOODY (H434) H Bowman From the 700 Metres raced wide and without cover.
Horse No 5 HAPPY TANGO (D075) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SAME TO YOU (H057) B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 SUPER ELITE (H247) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
M Chadwick (KING INVINCIBLE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of SUPER ELITE, resulting in SUPER ELITE losing its running and being checked.
M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Monday, 1 July 2024 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 GOODMANSHIP (E208) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded between HAPPY TANGO and PLENTIFUL which shifted in.
Horse No 12 EASY TWO (G423) M F Poon Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SUPER ELITE which jumped awkwardly and shifted in.

Early favourite Good View Glory produced a perfectly timed run to edge post-time favourite Happy Tango after settling on the rail behind midfield. It was his first win at his 13th start but he was knocking on the door recently. The move to blinkers worked the oracle. Happy Tango did everything right but could not get the win after moving to the lead 60m out. It was another honest effort. Easy Two flew home late for third after a patient ride one from the rear. He can produce a decent run now and then. Philos whacked on one-paced after settling in the box seat. It was a career-best effort following a downgrade. August Moon stayed on all right after settling one off the rail in midfield. Multimore weakened after stalking the pace. He is not genuine. Same To You ran on without threatening after he was ridden for luck two from the rear. He has shown improvement in his past three runs following a downgrade and is looking forward to a longer trip and better gate. King Invincible plugged on one-paced after getting held up early following a run on the rail in midfield.
